I had never really been to a rodeo before, and I’ll admit, it did a number on my animal-loving heart to see the calves being roped. Evan is trying hard to convert me, but a country girl I am not 🙂
It was a cold and rainy night…so we bundled up! We didn’t even pack pants for Connor and Evan, so we had to make a quick stop for 2 pairs of jeans that evening. Brenna LOVED the rodeo – getting to be all bundled and snuggled, and also seeing all of the animals, especially the horses.
We were all surprised when our shy, cautious boy declared “I want to do it!” when they called for participants of the Calf Scramble. He went into the arena all by himself, rolled in the dirt and joined in the throng of kids to chase the calves (the calves had ribbons on their tails and whoever caught the ribbons was the winner.)
When in Rome… I mean, Wyoming!
After our rousing evening of country music, cowboy grub and bucking broncos, we left the next morning and headed into the beautiful land of Yellowstone National Park…
